The website explains very well the work in cellar & vineyards,
and - what is rare - you may even buy he wines online !
| This is a recently re-founded Quinta in the upper reaches
of the Douro-valley, near Pocinho, the terminus of the train.
The name Passagem - the crossing -
comes from the ancient railway crossing the property..
But it symbolizes as well the british-portuguese joint venture
between the Bergqvist family of Quinta de la Rosa near Pinhão,
and Jorge Moreira, winemaker of well established reputation.
These are wines of the south, well structured, concentrated, intenses,
but with all the balance and elegance which are the trademark of Jorge's work...

l’entendement, apaise l’ire,
chasse la tristesse et donne joie et liesse. (François Rabelais)"
This is the motto of Fabienne & Alain Bruguière,

You'll find at their site other famous quotations,

you'd like to know about the property.
|The new website,
now intelligible without a degree in Latin,
very well done, simple & beautiful,

the domain & its happy new proprietors.
Chabanon's well-known estate Font-Caude,

and it's archives over several years.

Detailed reviews based on his flair and attention
to all those details necessary
to make a meal a feast.
|Graham Tigg's Languedoc Reviews|
|This is one of the
good tips of Mr. Tigg,
we'd never have discovered this place without him.
Since, it's one of our very favorites.
Elegant and refined, but unfussy cooking,
good wine-list, neat but sober decoration
and a straightforward and unfussy hospitality.
|Le Vieux Pont|
|What to tell of that
magic place ?
The perfection, of course, but without the charge
of the superfluous, straight to the essence.
Take at least some time for their site,
you'll enjoy the trip...

in Menton Provence - Côte d'Azur.
|Located by the sea, in
the Asturias in northern Spain,
this hotel has been built from the ruins
of one of those ancient, square asturian farmhouses,
but with a remarkably contemporary interior design.
Once again, no fuss, but a perfect harmony
of materials and colours, and a very gentle welcome.
|La Torre de Villademoros|
|A dream of a hotel -
not for luxury,
but the light, serene artmosphere of the place,
the sober, tasteful renovation of the old house,
the organic food & ecological orientation of the hotel,
its generosity & charm, and THAT view..
|We had to go there,
because again and again
guests told us of this welcoming place
high upon the cliffs of Normandy
Now we are charmed, too, so much we felt "at home".
It's not far from the tunnel, so it may be
of some interest for the British...

and Lucas & Blanca, the owners, are extremely welcoming.
We will return, that's surel
