discoveries & activities

During your time here or with your next meeting project, training course or seminar, the Auberge offers possibilities to simply relax or choose activities within the park, the “pétanque” ground, the swimming pool in the old orchard, the badminton net, the table tennis facilities…

Other activities are possible within the surroundings, like pedestrian excursions and hikes, with a horse or a VTT, horse back riding, water sports on the Herault river with Canoë Rapido or Canoë du Moulin, rock climbing in Claret (a village close by) or Saint Bauzille de Montmel, golf in Coulondresa treetop adventure park  in Saint Jean de Cuculles, free flight and a gliding airport few miles away…

Excursions like La Grotte des Demoiselles or a visit to Saint Guilhem le Désert can be the highlights of your time here.

The cellars of the Pic Saint Loup winegrowers offer fabulous opportunities to discover some excellent vintages from the vineyards found around here.

All around, nature offers some fabulous places to fancy your need for discoveries: rocky causses and wooded hills intermingling with green vineyards and ancient rock formations; the Mediterranean Sea, the Camargue and the Cevennes, the Bambouseraie, and the cities of Montpellier and Nimes are very close.

The majestic silhouette of the Pic Saint Loup dominates the vineyards of the same name, one of the most beautiful “terroirs” (wine growing grounds) of Languedoc.

History is only two steps away: caves and museums, the Romanesque chapels, the medieval village of Les Matelles, the road of the Glass blowers, and the stunning permanent glass exhibit  in Claret, the picturesque town of Sauve…

Not far away, you will enjoy the weekly colorful markets in Valflaunès, about a mile away, Quissac, Ganges and Sommières; a little further, the Pont du Gard and Uzès offer beautiful sightseeing day trips.

And a “must see”: the Mont Aigoual, the highest peak in the Cevennes, with its observatory and weather museum, the town of Le Vigan and St. Martial on the way… Towards the sea, the large sandy beaches of L’Espiguette, the medieval walled town of Aigues-Mortes and the beautiful Cathedral of Maguelone.
